What a pleasant Saturday. I went and had coffee with my Grandma today, and she fed me warm homemade raspberry apple crumble for breakfast. Mmm.

I also visited with her grand old cat and her very sweet dog.

And some vintage eggcups that belonged to my great-uncle.

And then my mother and I paid a visit to a local antique mall. This little cream and sugar pair really wanted to come home with me, but as I don't even have a kitchen I forced myself to leave them behind.

I found a twin to my very own dresser, priced at $475. The only difference is that the faux wood grain was stripped off the top of mine after an incident between my then teenaged mother and some nail polish remover.

I'm not a collector of Pyrex, but this pattern almost made me a convert. I am a huge fan of fungi.

But for all my restraint there were two treasures I could not leave behind; a Thelwell book and a brass unicorn figure.

The Thelwell has pages falling out all over but it was only $1.50.

And unicorns are the one thing I cannot bring myself to leave behind. He will fit it well with the rest of my collection.

The afternoon was capped off by a delicious lunch of grilled portobello sandwich and a salad with lemon-basil dressing.

A thoroughly satisfying day!
